Elasticsearch and OpenSearch vector search
Two forked search engines that both added dense vector fields and approximate nearest-neighbour search to an existing full-text search platform.
Both are free to self-host, with Elasticsearch subject to its licence choice. Managed options bill either on provisioned cluster resources or on serverless usage, depending on the vendor and tier.
