The best managed hosting for indie SaaS
#7 this week, scoring 7.3 out of 10. Best for Django developers who want managed deployment on their own AWS/DigitalOcean account without learning DevOps.
- Deployment simplicity 8
- Excellent for Django apps with automatic detection of settings and one-click deployment after connecting cloud account.
- Database & stateful services 7
- Manages PostgreSQL with automated backups on your cloud account, but scaling requires manual intervention.
- Pricing predictability 7
- Platform fee is predictable, but you also pay your cloud provider directly, requiring tracking two bills.
- Performance & reliability 7
- Good performance using your chosen cloud infrastructure, with automated health checks and restarts.
- Developer experience 6
- Decent dashboard focused on Django workflows, but CLI and debugging tools are basic compared to larger platforms.
- Portability & lock-in 9
- Deploys to your own cloud account, so you retain full control and can disconnect Appliku anytime.
